Australian MotoGP Complete

What a strange race? After Bridgestone declaring that the tyres were unsafe to complete the race distance the race duration was changed not once but twice. Eventually a race length of 19 laps was decided with a mandatory bike swap at half distance. A rider had to swap before the end of lap 10 and unfortunately for Marquez he stopped on 11 and was black flagged.

Lorenzo was under all sorts of pressure before the fateful black flag and it looked as though it was going to be a tough final few laps. The other beneficiary of the bizarre tyre situation was Rossi who managed to gain back the places he lost on track and keep in that position until the very end, finishing on the podium to the delight of the crowd.

Bradley Smith had a good race finishing in sixth and now all eyes are on Japan where there are still three riders all in with a shout of the championship trophy.

With so many of our fantasy players choosing Marquez the black flag incident has made very little difference to the league standings. Those who did have Lorenzo as their number one will however be happy with the massive gains they made over the top runners.
